I don’t know about anywhere else, but in Ontario, Canada, a bicycle is classified as a vehicle and as such is entitled to an entire traffic lane.  If adequate bicycle lanes are not provided, if other vehicles don’t play nice, perhaps it is time that cyclists began to take back the lane to which they are entitled.
